montana grown.
Our first night in ‘Hank the Truck’ wasn’t glamorous, it was in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Idaho we had to stay in because we were too tired to make it all the way to Utah. 150+ nights later though, we’ve been lucky enough to find some amazing places.
My first truck build was a simple design I did for my girlfriend, Emma, in her 2000 Tacoma. It didn’t have any fancy drawers or cabinets, but it did what it needed to and allowed her to live in her truck for 2 years. Although my designs have changed over time, they’re all created with the same intent to help get you out there.
Being born in Montana I’ve been lucky enough to see so much of what it has to offer. All of my extended family seems to either be an accountant or carpenter; I get to call myself both. I worked construction while in school and slowly started to build up my skills, shop, and developed a love for woodworking and creating. In 2020, I left my job to start my own businesses and become a self-employed woodworker and tax CPA, as goofy a pairing as that might sound.
Truck life has become deeply important to me. Every weekend, every vacation, every moment possible, we’ve stayed in Hank the Truck. I’ve seen more of Montana in the last 3 years than I did in the previous 20+. I’ve discovered the beauty of the Utah desert. I’ve woken up in so many places I’ve dreamed about. And I’ve met so many wonderful people…
Now I want to share that experience with others. I started KTC to help and inspire you to discover new adventures and revisit the landscapes you love. To be able to find ‘your place’. To be able to get way out there. To be able to leave work on a Friday, hop in the truck, and just drive. To be able to wake up to coyotes howling and watch the sun crest above the orange and red cliffs. And to be able to share that experience with those you care about…
Let’s get started on that adventure today.
